My cat is missing! What should I do first?

I'm lost, not abandoned.

Cat Finders
is a volunteer, neighborhood effort to help reunit lost cats with their families.

Who are the Cat Finders?
You are! Cat Finders is not a business, but a community project that includes everyone who is interested.

How does it work?

First, email or phone Cat Finders with your lost or found cat information. We will post your information on the web site no matter what town in New Hampshire your cat is lost in, and for the Lee and Newmarket area, we will also add your lost cat to our group poster. Then, other cat lovers will become aware of your cat, and can:
  • notify you if they think they have seen your cat
  • keep an eye out for your lost cat while searching for their own
  • determine if the stray cat who's been hanging around their porch has a family

Found Cats

The cats below have been found, but nobody knows if they have families looking for them. Is one of them yours?
For more info on these and other found cats, please go to the
Found Cats page.

Cat Finders' Mission

Cat Finders came into being because:
  • there are a lot of lost cats in our area
  • many of us find cats
  • it only stands to reason that some of these "found cats" are not strays, but are actually lost cats whose families may be searching desperately for them.
  • Cat Finders hopes to make it easier for the person who has lost the cat and the person who has found the cat to find each other
  • For information about the idea of "Think lost, not stray" go to: http://www.missingpetpartnership.org/recovery-thinklost.php

We ask that everyone who visits Cat Finders' web site will watch for all of the cats missing in their town or area.
